With the rise of the latest technology, headphones have become increasingly sophisticated.  The latest headphones can provide unique, noise cancelling sound with deep bass and crystal clear sound.

When Beats made the deal with Apple, the soundwave was heard across the world, and you could actually see headphones trending.  We felt the need to review the best headphones of 2020.

To be honest, there are a TON of choices.  For that reason, it is best to split up headphones by category.  For instance, the best headphones for running, are not the same as the best noise-cancelling headphones, or the best HiFi headphones.

Let’s take a look at a couple different categories, and the top choices for highly popular headphones.

We start off with best overall headphones: multi-purpose top rated headphones for every day use.

Best overall :  Sony WH-1000xM3

Looking at new headphones?  In a hugely crowded market with hundreds of models to choose from, you’ll need a timesaver. The Sony WH-1000XM3 are the best headphones of this year!

Due to their combination of top-notch audio quality, superb noise cancellation, and dependable wireless performance, these headphones take the spot of Best overall headphones this year!

The third generation of Sony’s technology, wireless headphones, it was hard to beat the last version (WH-1000XM2 were truly amazing headphones), but they somehow did.

Top of the line noise cancelling, best in class wireless audio, and plush comfort are the 3 reasons why you will want a pair of your own.

Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones are the third generation of their killer wireless headphones, and are now the best overall headphones in the year 2020. They win the noise cancelling headphone category, are super comfortable, and have amazing wireless sound.

As to the comfort of wearing these headphones, they are a little heavier than Bose’s QuietComfort 35 II, however the sound quality on the Sony leads this one for the win.  With a 30 hour battery life, and the upgrades to the sound quality and adjustments,  the Sony WH-1000XM3 Headphones grab our top spot.

Wait, Sony WH-1000XM3 won best overall, AND best noise cancelling?

Yes, normally, and in the past, Bose has dominated the noise cancelling category, they have always been the top brand.

However, with the release of the third generation of Sony’s Flagship Wireless headphones, the WH-1000XM3 now have the best noise cancelling technology.

Digital noice cancellation – industry leading noise canceling eliminates background noise.  This also pairs with Smart listening, allowing your headphones to quickly detect your activity, and adjust ambient sounds you hear.

Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones are the third generation of their killer wireless headphones, and are now the best overall headphones in the year 2020. They win the noise cancelling headphone category, are super comfortable, and have amazing wireless sound.

For the fastest method of uploading a website, you will need a version of All-in-One WP Migration that allows ‘restores’ from backups.

Instead of trying to let WordPress upload 1GB-2GB site using PHP, upload the .wpress file directly into the file manager.  This will save you hours!

Increase 512M Limit

IF you already have the PREMIUM version of All-in-One WP Migration, just skip ahead to Step 4.

Basically, you need to download an older version of the plugin (v6.77), this version does not block you from changing the values in the constants.php file – allowing you to change upload file limit to 10GB if you wanted to.

Step 3-A. Activate Plugin

Download the zip file of All-in-One WP Migration version 6.77 here.

Inside of your hosting, go to your file manager, and upload the .zip file to your /wp-content/plugins folder.  Once it uploads, extract it.  You should have a folder inside of plugins called ‘All-in-One WP Migration’.

Login to your WordPress Dashboard and make sure All-in-One WP Migration is activated.

Step 3-B. Locate Plugin Folder

In cPanel, click on File Manager, then go to the wp-content/plugins directory. Open up All-in-One WP Migration folder.  We will need to replace some code here.

Step 3-C. Edit Constants.php

Right click on the file ‘constants.php’, and click ‘Edit’, and ‘Edit’ again if a pop up box appears.  This will allow you to edit the code.

We are changing the upload_max_filesize.

Scroll down to line 284 of the constants.php file to the Max File Size section, and add *20 next to the existing number as shown below:

learn how to migrate a wordpress site for free, easily, and fast. Use all in one wp migration. Learn how to edit the plugin All in One WP Migration to have more thatn 512MB upload max filesize limit for free!

Save your changes.  Scroll to the bottom of the page, and hit update to save your changes.

// =================
// = Max File Size =
// =================
define( 'AI1WM_MAX_FILE_SIZE', 536870912 * 20 );

Step 4. Upload .wpress file

Now that your plugin as been activated, you are able to upload your .wpress file.

It took me many times to get this, but I had no idea you could upload this .wpress file through File Manager, and save hours of my time!

Jump back into File Manager, and jump into the wp-content folder.  Notice the folder at the top, called

All-in-One WP Migration, save yourself HOURS of time, and upload the .wpress file directly through cpanel. Instead of using php, at the mercy of your websites upload speed, use file manager.

Step 5. Restore Backup of .wpress file

After you have uploaded it, the hard part is over.  Jump back into the WordPress dashboard.

On the left-side menu, click ‘All-in-One WP Migration’, and then click ‘Backups’.

Quickly import and restore a WordPress site by uploading the .wpress file using file manager, or ftp, instead of import in WordPress. Once uploaded to the correct a1wmblackups folder, login to wordpress and go to All in One WP Migration -> Backups. Then click restore.

On the upper right, click ‘Restore’, and then click ‘proceed’ to overwrite the current new site.

This will completely move over your entire WordPress site, onto a new URL or server, and change all URL’s for you to work on the new server!

This is by far the easiest method I have used.

In late 2017, Apple introduced a significant wireless upgrade to their headphones, the Apple AirPods.  The reviews have been mixed, but as for what they’re worth, they perform well, and the headphones / case charges very fast.  In about 15 minutes, you can expect about 80% battery charge.

The AirPods are very easy to pair with bluetooth, your iPhone or iPad.  These perform great in the gym or going for a run, you don’t have to worry about wires getting tangled.  The sound quality is actually better than the wired headphones from Apple.

If you lose, or break the AirPods, each AirPod costs around $30.  Obviously, the AirPods do not cancel noise, so if you are looking for a way to block out some sound around you, these are not the best for you.  One problem with small wireless devices, is they are very easy to accidentally drop.  We have dropped them in water a couple of times..

Our Top Pick:  Sony WH-1000xM2

Sony WH-1000XM2

Sony WH-1000XM2 over the ear headphones win our top spot for best headphones of 2018.  The battery life at 30 hours wireless is huge, compared to other headphones, and 40 hours wired.  The noise cancelling was good enough to be a contender, and works pretty well when traveling.  The sleek design and the comfort won us over.

Pros:  The look and feel, comfort being the most important.  The noise cancellation upgrade is solid, but not as jaw dropping as advertised.  The battery life!  30 hours wireless, 40 hours wired.  Stellar.

Cons:  A bit clunky sometimes.  The buttons could be worked out or mapped a little better.  Not too many complaints.

Who should buy it:  Anyone who doesn’t mind wearing large headphones, but also travelers, and people surrounded by noise often.  These will help block it out, but isolate the sound coming through to you.  They are reasonably priced, giving a lot of benefits, and make our top spot on the list of best headphones of 2018.
